If you have ever gone to bed, only to lay awake all night, you are familiar with the drowsy, tired feeling that you carry around with you the next day. If you go two, three or even four days without sleeping you are not only tired and groggy, but you might even start hallucinating. I was having trouble sleeping and decided to go and talk to my doctor. She mentioned some over the counter sleeping aids and I told her I’d already tried those.
They work great for a while but then they stop working. She prescribed Trazodone for me and I’m telling you, it is a lifesaver. In the beginning it gave me headaches, but after a few nights I was sleeping like a baby. I only take 50mg each night, which isn’t very much, but it’s enough. When my sister started having a problem sleeping at night, I suggested talking to her doctor and seeing if she could get some Trazodone as well. It was just what she needed. I recommend talking to your doctor if you are experiencing any sleep disturbance type problems, like insomnia.
