Excluding Hops, these ingredients are not often seen in sleep supplements, which can mean this formula is unique or ineffective. Schisandra is associated with relaxing the body and reducing nervousness, alongside Mother-of-Pearl. Helcidum is actually a mild sedative that has the ability to calm nerves.

Cons

Back in 2007 this “herbal” remedy for sleeplessness was nationally recalled in Canada. As it turns out, the product contained traces of Estazolam. Estazolam is a prescription medication used as a treatment for insomnia and other sleep disorders. Needless to say the product was effective in helping people fall asleep, but it wasn’t what customers thought they were getting. Estazolam can lead to dependence and other unwanted negative side effects.

Conclusion

Even though Sleepees was recalled, the problem was addressed and the product was re-released to the public. Having a bad reputation aside, the formula is still not decent enough for a second chance. These herbs do have calming effects on the body, but they are not often seen in supplements because they are not as strong as other natural alternatives. An alternative sleep supplement with Melatonin or Valerian would be better sleep solution.
